about

In 2005 Josh was asked by a friend who worked in a music publishing company to write a song that might be optioned for an 'inspired by' record that would accompany the initial release of C.S. Lewis' great, The Lion, The Witch And the Wardrobe. This track was a demo Josh submitted and is now polished up in 2018.

The idea for that record was absorbed by "higher ups" in the record company and ended up featuring some more famous recording artists. In that same month Susanna's book Jagged With Love was selected by former US Poet Laureate to win the prestigious Brittingham Prize. The lesson here: wed a creative person and you'll spend your live being creative together and perhaps along the way you'll make an Ordinary Neighbors Record.

We are posting this track in light of a recent invitationpodcast.org release when we reflected on the trouble with Christianity today, that we don't take God seriously.

lyrics

He is large
He is strange
He is dangerous
But He is good.

He is tall
Like a tree
And on his head
He wears a crown

He's not safe
Or bad

At the press of each paw
The winter fades away

They cut his hair
they tied him down
they punched his face
He is not there
He's not there
He's coming back
for good

At the press of each paw
The winter fades away
At the sound of his name
The demons
They fly away
